Meet the Founder
TRAC was founded by Evelyn Holmes, M.Ed, a twenty-three year veteran
teacher that has taught school in Florida, South Carolina, and the
Department of Defense. Currently she teaches in North Carolina. During her
travels and teaching career she encountered many students needing
additional educational, emotional, and social support that did not qualify for
additional services within the educational system and therefore were “falling
through the cracks”. In too many cases the parents were not able to afford
outside assistance for a growing population of children in America. A need
was identified for beyond the school day services for at-risk and
disadvantaged youth and sadly even those with mild disabilities. TRAC
Enrichment Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been in
business since 2000 as a non-profit business. TRAC works with at-risk
disadvantaged and special needs youth, some of which have been victimized.
Our efforts are to rebuild self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-images.
Children that live in chaotic and violent situations many times become
offenders or statistics.
Our program efforts are focused on changing the
mentality of hopelessness. We provide mentoring and academic tutorial
services to children in grades k-8 and educational consulting. The company
has been awarded several grants and contracts between 2005 and 2007.
This has allowed them the opportunity to offer the desired services to over
one hundred fifty students in Pitt, Martin, Wilson and Bertie counties.
