Meet the Founder
TRAC was founded by Dr. Evelyn Holmes is the founder of TRAC, bringing more than 30 years of experience as an educator across North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, and even Japan through the Department of Defense schools. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Master of Science in Elementary Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Reading, with certifications spanning a wide range of instructional and leadership areas.
But her qualifications extend beyond degrees—they live in the impact she has made. Over the course of her career, Dr. Holmes has served as a curriculum specialist, grant writer, student teacher supervisor, and educational leader. She has written and secured more than 50 grants with a 92% funding rate, transforming millions of dollars into programs and resources for children and families who needed them most. She has founded businesses, created jobs, mentored educators, and developed programs that not only provide academic support but also instill hope, confidence, and opportunity.
When life took an unexpected turn during her doctoral studies, Dr. Holmes did not give up. Instead, she leaned on her faith, redirected her knowledge, and continued her mission—stronger, deeper, and more purposeful than ever. With compassion, clarity, grace, and unwavering faith, she has remained committed to the belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed.
Dr. Holmes established the TRAC Enrichment Center, Inc. in 2000 as a nonprofit dedicated to serving at-risk, disadvantaged, and special needs youth, including those with mild disabilities. TRAC’s mission is to rebuild self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth while countering the mentality of hopelessness. Through mentoring, tutoring, and consulting, TRAC has served more than 1,000 students across Pitt, Martin, Wilson, Washington, and Bertie counties in North Carolina, while also providing Supplemental Educational Services in multiple states.
She later expanded her vision by founding TRAC Educational Services Group, TRAC
Academy, and TRAC Tutoring Resources & Educational Consulting. These organizations continue her mission of creating nurturing, academically rigorous environments where students thrive—especially those who have been overlooked or counted out.
